John Gillespie, Founder
(right), was honored as the 2023 Veteran of the Year for Wisconsin’s 8th District, recognizing outstanding community service. The award was presented by Congressman Mike Gallaher (left), a U.S. Marine, who served two tours in Iraq as an intelligence officer on the staff of David Petraeus.
John served as a U.S. Army Captain in a combat engineer battalion. He is the author of “Our 351 Sons”, the story of him and his wife Jan founding Rawhide Boys Ranch and partnering with Bart & Cherry Starr of the Green Bay Packers. Over 35 years as houseparents, John & Jan had 351 teenage boys live in their home. Rawhide was named by President George H.W. Bush as a National Point of Light.
John and Jan foster parented several sons who served in the military and saw the challenges some faced as veterans. He has a deep desire to see veterans find the help they need to be victorious in life after their military careers.

Steven Gillespie, Director
Steven is a graduate of Liberty University. He has been the national recruitment leader in two of our nation’s top lobbies supporting small businesses. He is a retired real estate agent. He and his wife Sandy hold Advanced Certifications in Counseling from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University. They are certified both as SYMBIS facilitators (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) and in Blended Family Ministry. They have served as Encourager Coaches in Celebrate Recovery, a national ministry that facilitates faith-based share groups. Together they operate a marriage ministry at Pineywoods Chapel and Trails in Northeast Texas. Their blended family includes five children and seven grandchildren.

Terry Reese, LPC, CSAC, BCPCC, CSTOP, NCC
Terry is the owner and clinical director of Walk by Faith Counseling, a Christian-based mental health practice located in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, and Board-Certified Professional Christian Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors. He also holds national certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider (CSTOP).
Terry is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies at Regent University. His academic background includes a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and an Associate Degree in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment.
A proud U.S. Military veteran, Terry served faithfully for 26 years before entering the counseling field. He is the co-author of Walk by Faith, Not by Sexuality: A Compassionate Guide to Sexual Identity, Religious Integrity, and Inner Peace, a faith-based resource designed to support individuals navigating sexual identity within a Christian framework.He also serves as a Community Treatment Representative for the Outagamie County Veterans Treatment Court, where he supports justice-involved veterans on their path to healing and restoration.
Terry has been married to his wife, Holly, for over 20 years, and together they are raising three wonderful children. His practice and purpose are deeply rooted in faith, family, and a calling to provide compassionate, Christ-centered care to those in need.

Tom Schurman
Tom is a graduate of UW-Madison with a BBA in accounting. He practiced as a CPA for approximately 15 years. For the past 25+ years, he’s been employed with a leading small business advocacy group, as well as being an active volunteer with Christian ministries.

Kevin Dieck
Kevin began his faith-based journey as a youth pastor with Shiloh Youth Revival Centers and campus ministry, serving students at Syracuse University, University of Illinois, and the University of Oregon. He later transitioned into the business world, starting as a real estate broker and eventually founding several successful companies. Today, he remains active in real estate through Think Hallmark Real Estate, where he combines his business acumen with a passion for supporting the nonprofit community. Kevin is honored to serve on the board of VetsShare, continuing his commitment to service. He and his wife of 43 years make their home in Wisconsin, where they enjoy time with their three adult children and six grandchildren. With a heart for purpose and a drive to make a difference, Kevin believes there is still much more to accomplish.
