VetsShare helps "vets share" by connecting them with other faith-based resources that provide a safe place to share their story and gain insight. We are building a referral list of faith-based counselors and churches offering resources for veterans. That list will become active in 2025.

The award was presented by Congressman Mike Gallaher (left), a U.S. Marine, who served two tours in Iraq as an intelligence officer on the staff of David Petraeus.
John served as a U.S. Army Captain in a combat engineer battalion. He is the author of "Our 351 Sons", the story of him and his wife Jan founding Rawhide Boys Ranch and partnering with Bart & Cherry Starr of the Green Bay Packers. Over 35 years as houseparents, John & Jan had 351 teenage boys live in their home. Rawhide was named by President George H.W. Bush as a National Point of Light.
John is passionate about encouraging others to support VetsShare's effort to connect veterans with faith-based resources that we believe provide the best hope for healing.
Gifts to VetsShare are used only for veterans' counseling fees, training events for volunteers, promotion of this site and minimal administrative costs. A 2024 audit will be available in 2025.
